• Nov. 1993- the North American Free Trade Agreement (N.A.F.T.A.) is approved by the House and Senate and goes into effect on Jan. 1, 1994
• 1994 Grammy Award winners: Record of the Year- “I Will Always Love You” Whitney Houston; Album of the Year- "The Soundtrack from the Motion Picture: The Bodyguard"
• "Schindler’s List" wins Academy Award for Best Picture
• Apr. 5- Kurt Cobain of the band Nirvana found dead after apparent suicide
• Apr. 6- Massacre in Rwanda occurs
• Apr. 22- Former President Richard Nixon dies
• Apr. 29- Nelson Mandela is elected as the first black president in South Africa
• May- “The Chunnel” from England to France opens, connecting the two countries by an underground train that cuts the trip down to 35 minutes
• June 18- O.J. Simpson is arrested for killing his wife and friend after a low speed car chase with police
• Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan is brutally attacked
• Technology for computer film editing is introduced
• The first human cloning in vitro occurs
• Colin Ferguson shoots and kills 16 people on Long Island Rail Road train

• The 25th anniversary of women at Saint Mary’s College
• Completion and Dedication of the McEnery Center attached to the Fitzgerald Library
• Completion of the Gostomski Fieldhouse addition, also known as the Recreation and Athetic Center (RAC)
